Harmonic Oscillator v1.0 Quick Reference
One-page cheat sheet for momentum consensus signals
🎯 The 3 Regime Labels
The status panel prints one regime label, a direction arrow, and the vote count as X/7. The label is read off the composite oscillator; the vote count is a separate number on its own row. There is no separate signal label to look for.
| Label | Arrow | What sets it | Meaning |
|---|---|---|---|
| TRENDING | ▲ or ▼ | Composite above 65 with the 200 EMA rising, or below 35 with it falling | A directional regime |
| BIAS | ▲ or ▼ | Composite above 55 or below 45 | A lean, not yet a consensus |
| RANGING | — | Composite between 45 and 55 | No directional reading |
The two alerts: High Bull Consensus and High Bear Consensus fire when the vote count reaches your Signal Mode threshold: Conservative 6+, Balanced 5+, Aggressive 4+.
📊 The 7 Voters
| Voter | What It Analyzes | Signal Type |
|---|---|---|
| 1. RSI | Momentum-aware RSI with directional confirmation | Overbought/oversold |
| 2. Stochastic RSI | Smoothed stochastic with slope analysis | Momentum extremes |
| 3. MACD | Histogram acceleration, not merely direction | Trend-following |
| 4. EMA Trend | Price position relative to trend, with slope confirmation | Trend-following |
| 5. Momentum | Rate of change analysis | Momentum extremes |
| 6. Volume | Confirming volume on directional candles | Volume confirmation |
| 7. Divergence Zone | Extreme zone detection with price confirmation | Reversal detection |
⚡ Quick Interpretation Guide
Signal Strength
- TRENDING▲ / TRENDING▼: Composite past 65 or under 35 with the EMA 200 agreeing, and 5 or more of the seven components agreeing.
- BIAS▲ / BIAS▼: Composite past 55 or under 45, with 3 or 4 components agreeing. A direction is forming and the seven are still split.
- RANGING—: Composite between 45 and 55. Momentum unclear.
- 6 or 7 votes: The strongest reading the panel produces: rare
Voting Patterns
- All 7 voters agree: rare on most charts, and the broadest agreement the panel can show
- 6 voters agree: Conservative mode alert threshold
- 5 voters agree: TRENDING, and the Balanced mode alert threshold
- 4 voters agree: BIAS, and the Aggressive mode alert threshold
- 0-2 voters agree: RANGING - components conflict, no momentum reading
🤝 Best Combinations
With Pentarch
- Pentarch TD with TRENDING▲ at 6-7 votes: an accumulation event and a broad momentum agreement on the same bar
- Pentarch IGN + TRENDING▲ = Markup phase with momentum alignment
- Pentarch CAP + TRENDING▼ at 6-7 votes = Climax exhaustion with momentum reversal
Example: a Pentarch TD with Harmonic TRENDING▲ at 7/7 is two instruments describing one condition, with nothing on the panel disagreeing. It is the most agreement the pair can show, which is not the same as a likelihood.
With Janus Atlas
- TRENDING▲ at 6-7 votes on dL or wL = Momentum meeting level support
- TRENDING▼ at 6-7 votes on dH or wH = Momentum meeting level resistance
- Vote count rising while price turns at a Janus level: the panel and the level describing the same bar
With Volume Oracle
- TRENDING▲ at 6-7 votes + Accumulation regime = Momentum with buying pressure
- TRENDING▼ at 6-7 votes + Distribution regime = Momentum with selling pressure
- RANGING— + Neutral regime = Wait for regime and momentum clarity
⚙️ Recommended Settings
Aggressive Mode (More Signals)
- Signal Mode: Aggressive : alerts at 4+ votes
- Signals appear more frequently
- More readings reach you, and more of them are thin
- The lowest threshold the panel offers
Balanced Mode (Default)
- Signal Mode: Balanced : alerts at 5+ votes
- Moderate signal frequency
- The default: a consensus of five before a reading reaches you
- What the panel ships with
Conservative Mode (Fewer, Better Signals)
- Signal Mode: Conservative: alerts at 6+ votes only
- Few readings, and each one has six or seven components behind it
- Only near-unanimous readings reach you
- The highest threshold the panel offers
⚠️ When NOT to Use
❌ Tight consolidation (oscillators give conflicting signals)
❌ Extreme news events (momentum shifts too quickly)
❌ Very low timeframes (<1m) - too much noise
❌ Low liquidity assets - erratic oscillator readings
🔧 Troubleshooting
"Always showing RANGING"
→ Normal during consolidation/choppy markets
→ Oscillators disagreeing = no clear momentum
→ Wait for stronger trend to develop
"Too many signals"
→ Switch Signal Mode to Conservative (6+ votes only)
→ Component parameters are internal; Signal Mode is the only threshold control
→ Use higher timeframe for fewer signals
"Signals not matching price action"
→ Momentum is lagging indicator (normal delay)
→ BIAS▼ can appear during a pullback while the overall trend is still up
→ Combine with Pentarch/Janus for context
📊 Timeframe Suitability
| Timeframe | Suitability | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| 1m-5m | ⚠️ Noisy | Use Aggressive mode, expect more whipsaws |
| 15m | ✅ Good | Day trading, Balanced mode works well |
| 1H | ⭐ Best | Day/swing trading, clearest momentum signals |
| 4H | ⭐ Best | Swing trading, 6-7 vote readings are clearest here |
| Daily | ✅ Excellent | The vote count settles for longer here |
| Weekly | ✅ Good | Readings are rare, and each covers many weeks |
🎯 Reading the Vote Count
- 6-7 votes = Priority : near-unanimous consensus is the clearest reading
- RANGING = Wait : no consensus means no clear momentum
- Combine with cycle/levels : Momentum alone is not enough
- Watch for momentum shifts : TRENDING▲ to RANGING to TRENDING▼ = trend change
- Vote count matters : 7/7 is broader agreement than 6/7, and 6/7 than 5/7. We publish no accuracy figures for any of them.
📖 Key Concepts
Voting System: 7 independent components vote on momentum direction
Consensus Threshold: alerts fire at 4+, 5+ or 6+ votes depending on Signal Mode
TRENDING ▲/▼: 5 or more components agree on direction
RANGING —: 0-2 components agree (wait for clarity)
